Solid Waste and Recycling 

Los Alamos County provides comprehensive waste and recycling services for residents and businesses.  Programs include curbside waste and recycling collection, dumpster and roll off rental, daily e-waste and household hazardous waste recycling, and a variety of other programs.  The below graphic provides more details on the solid waste and recycling services offered to Los Alamos County residents and businesses. If you have questions about whether or not an item is recyclable in the residential blue recycling roll carts, please contact the Eco Station at (505) 662-8163.

 Services and Fees

 Solid Waste and Recycling Convenience Centers

There are two convenience centers; one located in White Rock at Overlook Park and the other in the Sullivan Field parking lot near Los Alamos High School. 

The Overlook Park convenience center includes receptacles for the following items: small loads of residential waste, brush, cardboard, paper, and mixed recycling. 

The Sullivan Field parking lot location includes receptacles for mixed recycling, phonebooks and cardboard.

Overlook Convenience Center Hours of Operation

Monday, Tuesday, and Friday - 8:00 am 4:00 pm 

Saturday & Sunday - 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Closed Wednesday & Thursday

Sullivan Field Hours of Operation

Open 24 hours a day.   

 

 Outdoor Recycling Bins

Ten outdoor recycling bins are located throughout Los Alamos: four bins are located at Ashley Pond, two bins at the North Mesa Softball/Baseball fields, two bins at the Golf Course, one bin at the North Mesa Soccer Fields and one bin at the miniature golf course located at East Park.
